Repairs to Pinewood Water System (Update)

From Gabi Benson….

“Hi Laura, Carl has been working to restore the Treatment Plant and distribution lines.  He has the plant  functioning, but the water in the river and the reservoir is full of debris and the color of hot chocolate. Even after treatment, it has a yellow color and a slight odor. He is working to repair the reservoir’s aeration system damaged by the flood. This might help the turbidity.

At the current usage rate, we only have 2 weeks or so of water remaining in the tanks. If he can start making water again, the tanks will start to fill, but we need to encourage the residents still in Pinewood to conserve water and only use the bare minimum.

The lines to the areas beyond Seneca, Cree Court and Kiowa Island are a bigger problem. We are talking with a construction firm to possibly put in temporary lines until the permanent lines could be installed next spring.

Carl’s time frame is to have the entire system back on line by
Thanksgiving. (7 weeks)” ~Gabi

Thank you Gabi and Carl or all the hard work and for keeping us posted. I know this doesn’t help much, but if help is needed on the weekends I would gladly try to do what I can to help out Carl in rebuilding whatever needs rebuilding. Please feel free to contact me via this page or other.
