River Crossings at Kiowa and Cree Open This Weekend

The temporary crossings at Kiowa Road and Cree Court are open for the weekend, thanks to an extra effort by our contractor, Bladeworks. This is an opportunity for residents of those two isolated areas to get back in to get out vehicles and check out their homes. Access will again be restricted next week as work continues at both crossings. We ask that people who don’t live in this work zone please stay out of these areas to give the residents as much access as possible during this weekend. Next week, in conjunction with the road work, we expect to begin the work necessary to bury waterlines in the river bed. Significant work remains before water will be restored.

Paving to Cause Delays on US 36 Outside of Pinewood Springs

Paving to Cause Delays on US 36 Outside of Pinewood Springs

On Tuesday, October 21, the project team will pave the upper portion of US 36 between MM 10.8 and MM 12.5 starting at 7:30 a.m. and lasting to 4 p.m. The paving operation may cause a delay in the pilot car escort of 10 – 30 minutes. Please be patient if you are delayed slightly, as the paving will allow crews to create an asphalt roadway surface on the highway. The pilot car escorts are for the use of local Pinewood Springs area residents and essential vehicles. Local residents are defined as home, property or business owners within the construction zone of US 36, between mile markers 4 and 19. If you have questions or concerns, please send an email to us36floodrepairs@publicinfoteam.com or leave a message on the project hotline at (970)...

Flood Clean-up: Safety Suggestions

Flood Clean-up: Safety Suggestions

The combination of the damage to our roads and bridges with the reduced number of fire-fighters in the community leaves us with potentially long response times. Any serious injury or illness which might normally be served well by an ambulance could very easily require a medical helicopter evacuation. Please exercise caution while working in your home and around your property. There are many new hazards introduced by the flood and most of us have a lot of work ahead to clean up the community. Working carefully requires little or no extra material and only a little extra time for planning. Here are just a few suggestions: Do not work alone when on ladders or using power saws. When using a chainsaw, wear saw chaps. Watch for sharp objects and dropoffs that are new...
