Water System Repair Update

The Duel Filtration System at the Treatment plant is up and running. Unfortunately, one of the two units was damaged in the flood. Due to this limiting factor Carl is only able to make approximately 15,000 gallons of water per day. Our normal production is almost twice that much daily.

The Board asks that you be very careful with your water usage until the second unit is repaired or replaced.  If usage continues to exceed production, hauling will be our only option. We’re not sure the heavy trucks would be allowed over the damaged roads. Also, remember that NO outside use of treated water is allowed.

Sorry for the not so good news. ~Gabi

Glad to hear about the water…Thanks Carl! But is Warren willing to share it? We look forward to when all is operating at 100% and can support the entire community coming home. I am so eager to get back home!

To all of you on wells. I had our water tested at the Larimer Health Department. The water is undrinkable. Currently 60-70% of wells being tested are positive for “Total Coliform”, compared to under 5% on a normal basis. A bacteria that lives on just about everything. It got mixed up with all the rain. However, our water tested negative for E-Coli.
Just giving you people on wells a heads up.

what does this mean? “Total Coliform”? Can you still drink it? or shower? does it go away on its own, or needs to be treated with “bleach”?

Google it. It says you should not drink it. We are showering in it. The recommendation is to bleach it, but depending on how you are set up with a well/cistern, you don’t want to pull contaminated water in to your cistern after you have bleached it. We were told it should settle down in about 4-6 wks. Feel free to call me at 303-823-5547 if you would like to discuss what I know. ” which is not much :) “

Do we have a time-frame when we believe that all the water in Pinewood Springs will be fully operational? That would include
drinking and bathing. Realize that would be a guestimate but we are trying to plan our return to our home. Just give us your best guess, please
