Larimer County: Debris Removal Begins November 25th

Fort Collins, CO – In addition to the Flood 2013 debris pick-up schedule, Larimer County’s Solid Waste Department has announced a flood debris helpline, (970)498-7140, where residents can call for debris pick-up updates beginning Monday, Nov. 25.  Larimer County has contracted with T.F.R. Enterprises Inc., to remove debris on County owned and maintained roads, and Leidos Inc., who will monitor the debris removal. The debris removal schedule also begins Monday, November 25 with the first pick-ups on: 1. Mail Delivery to Pinewood Springs

Roadside mail delivery to our Pinewood Springs mailboxes will resume on Monday, November 18th. If you haven’t been picking up your mail consistently since the flood, please stop by the Lyons Post office to pick up your old mail. Also, some UPS and FedEx packages for Pinewood residents are still sitting at the Lyons General Store on Main Street. Many of these packages were sent when the highway was closed and date back to September and October. Just stop by there to see if you have any old packages to pick up.

Iroquois Road Now Open

I am pleased to announce that Iroquois Road is now available for use allowing heavy vehicles to bypass the five ton weight restricted Seneca bridge. Our contractor, Bladeworks, has built a ramp from Cree Court to the damaged end of Iroquois. Fire, propane, garbage, and other heavy trucks can now access the previously inaccessible area by taking Kiowa to the first Wichita Road intersection to Cree Court to Iroquois. Letter from the Pinewood Springs Water Board

The Pinewood Springs Water District is, like everyone else, elated about the opening of US 36 between Lyons and Estes Park.  The residents along US 36 have had to deal with inconvenience and limited access while work on US 36 was underway.  It should be noted that US 36 was opened so quickly at the expense of many other infrastructure projects that were delayed in order to limit traffic while the highway was under repair.  Century Link, for example, could not get to much of their damaged equipment due to the travel restrictions.  It was also difficult for the local districts to get materials in and out of the area.  One should be very careful when saying that US 36 is open so: “Why isn’t my water on?”, or “Why isn’t my phone working?”, or “Why...
